Watering The Flower In A Friend
One day I was giving a talk at our practice center in France. Two of the people in attendance were a couple from Bordeaux who visit our center on occasion. The woman was sitting in the front of the audience, and she was crying from the beginning of the talk to the end. After the talk I went to her husband and told him, "Dear friend, your flower needs some water." He understood right away. After lunch, they drove home through the countryside, and he spent that hour and a half letting her know the things he appreciated about her. When they arrived home, their children were surprised to see their mother and father so joyful. Transformation can happen very quickly.

一行禅师说当禅师在法国的某个道场弘法时，有一对常来到场的夫妻也出席。禅师发现那位妻子从开示开始到结束，都在不停地流眼泪。讲座结束后，禅师走向那位丈夫并说：“亲爱的朋友，你的花朵需要水分”。他马上明白。用完午餐后，回家的乡区旅程上，他花了一个小时半，让她了解他如此珍惜她、感激她的事。回到家时，孩子们都很惊讶看到非常喜悦的父母。转化是可以很快的发生。
